About Me
Hello! I'm Kasey Rose. Since I was a young child, I've always been drawn to, and had a passion for people with special needs. Growing up, one of my sweetest friends had Downs Syndrome and she left a mark on my heart. As an adult, we have fostered several children, adopted a couple, and come alongside many families also walking the journey of raising kids who have experienced trauma. The journey is is filled with lots of love, excitement, and the necessity to repeatedly learn and adapt to new circumstances.
Over the years, I have sought extensive education and experience in how to best support individuals with disabilities, as well as their families. I hold an Associate's of Applied Science in Child Development, a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology, a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, and am currently in a Doctoral program in pursuit of a degree in Cognition and Instruction. I am certified in Special Education with the TEA, and spent 6 years teaching students ranging from kindergarten through twelfth grade in public schools. In addition, I have served in children's and youth ministries in various capacities, including in pastoral roles, for almost 20 years. A couple of years ago, I had the privilege of leading a Special Needs Ministry workshop of a district KidMin Conference.
It is my hope that churches will be equipped and empowered to not only create spaces where kids can safely participate in ministry activities, but that they would feel a deep sense of belonging to the community, and to Jesus.
